The High Court has ordered the immediate release of Mukurweini MP John Kaguchia upon payment of a KSh100,000 police cash bail, granting him temporary relief pending the hearing and determination of his case.

In her ruling, Lady Justice Njoki Mwangi certified the legislator's application as urgent and issued interim orders directing that Kaguchia be released after meeting the bail conditions. The court further ordered that an application filed by his legal team be heard virtually on September 16, 2026, when the matter will come up for further directions.
